So I think my last update was in 2009...sorry about that.
A LOT has happened since then that unfortunately coincided with me taking a break from physical art. I say physical because I have found my passion(and career choice) in music, more specifically singing.
In this time I have also graduated the prison known as high school. So, this fall I will be leaving my frigid New England home to attend the University of Hawaii for Voice Performance!
But I did do something this past summer that will excite my followers of the high school age. I attended the California State Summer School for the Arts (or CSSSA). It was literally THE BEST experience of my life. I spent one month at Calarts with about 500 other artists all doing what we love: art.
They have 7 different areas of study: animation, creative writing, dance, film and video, theatre, visual arts, and music (what I went for). Basically what it is is you spend one month in a very intensive atmosphere working on your art. You take all kinds of classes and people come in to talk to you. The instructors are some of the best in their fields and the other attendees are so supportive and amazingly amazing at what they do (otherwise they wouldn't be there!).
CSSSA is mainly for California residents but don't lose hope now! They DO accept people from out of state and even international students! I am evidence of this as I live in New York. Its just a little harder to get in.
If you have any questions about this I will be MORE than happy to talk about it. Just remember that I went for music so my knowledge of what the other departments were up to is limited. If you have specific questions outside of the music department I strongly encourage you to contact the head of the one you ARE interested in. This really is an AMAZING program and is unlike anything you will ever do. I can't speak highly enough about it!!
Ok, now that I got my CSSSA promotion out of the way I'm going to do self promotion. I've already established that I'm super into music. If you want to hear me sing please head over to my youtube channel. Please take a look because I'm really proud of what I do over there. Its kind of my passion and my life and all the other stuff...
Well, that's about everything. Thanks if you read this and I'm sorry I've been gone for so long. BUT i just got a new camera so I plan on taking many many pictures so STAY TUNED!!
